OK, we’ve been a little slow with the photos. Actual wedding photos are incoming. For now, the photos that are described two posts ago.

We’re home! We drove from Niagara to Annapolis today with a stop in PA to visit two awesome folks! Updates later. So tired

Hi all! No photos at the moment since I’m working from the lobby wireless at the Sheraton in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Just wanted to update and say that we had a fantastic time hoofing it across NH, VT, and NY in one day. We even stopped in the White Mountains in Vermont for a little while on Wednesday! We’re planning on staying here until tomorrow morning, then we’re going down south to visit Stephanine’s Aunt & Uncle in PA. The plan from there is to stay somewhere in western Maryland on Saturday night and get home on Sunday.

I’ll try to get some photos up later today since it’s kind of rainy today and we only have the Maid of the Mist (boat ride around the falls) on our list of things to do today. Any thoughts on other things we can do while in Ontario?

Hi! OK, here’s today’s update (finally). We didn’t fall off the face of the Earth, we’ve just been having some long/late days!

Today we went into downtown Portland, ME  for lunch, a visit to the Shipyard Brewery (see a pattern here?), and just to sight-see. We even stopped at Beal’s Old Fashioned Ice Cream. Portland is certainly unique!

I think you already saw the whale-watching photo we put up. I forgot to grab the camera on the 17th, so our visit to the aquarium, Hard Rock, and the Whale Watching tour is abscent of photos. The Whale Watch Log should eventually have photos of the trip.

On the 18th, we took a ride on the Duck Tours around Boston. After that, we made our way into Maine. We stopped at Foster’s Clam Bake for dinner before making our way into Portland, ME.

The 16th we visited the Sam Adams brewery (tour & free beer) and ended the night at Legal Seafood! It was delicious

Morning: Mystic, Connecticut

In the morning, we visited the Mystic Seaport & Museums. If you’ve been to Colonial Williamsburg, it was very similar. There were workers in character like a blacksmith pounding out an iron stake for a pig roast spit. There were also some museums scattered about the docks. We even took a steamboat ride. Of course, it rained (drizzle, light rain) all day, but it did not dampen our spirits! After that, we ate at the famous Mystic Pizza, which was delicious. We finished off with some ice cream from Mystic Drawbridge Ice Cream while we watched the drawbridge let a few sailboats through. Mystic is a great little town that reminded me a lot of some towns in North Carolina and Ohio.

Afternoon: Newport, Rhode Island

We took an hour drive on to Newport to experience the Cliff Walk. Unfortunately, the storms that have been hitting the Northeast were looming and we didn’t get to go more than a mile. What we did see was gorgeous! Two states down today, one to go!

Evening: Falmouth, Massachusetts (Cape Cod)

Our final destination was Falmouth, Mass. We ate at KK Codders Seafood and Grill. It’s a quaint little place with delicious seafood. We’re now sitting in our hotel room plotting the next day’s activities. Enjoy some photos!

We’re two days in and I can report three things: the East/Northeast decided to wait until our wedding and honeymoon to rain; we’re having a ton of fun so far; and apparently hotels don’t know quite how to get decent WiFi service out. I’m sitting on the lobby of a Ramada Inn in Mystic, Connecticut right now, so I hope you don’t mind the brief update. As I write that, some device whirs behind the front counter and Stephanie says, “that’s sounds creepy.” So, let’s get on with it.

Day 1

We headed out Monday morning and ended up hitting Joe’s Crab Shack in Wilmington, Delaware for some lunch. After splitting a huge seafood platter, we moved on to Philly. Fortunately, sometimes doing things on the go bare gifts. We hopped in line for an evening “Express Tour” of Independence Hall (which was awesome – the ranger/guide was great), took a look at the Liberty Bell, and walked around The Gallery. We ended up at the Hard Rock Cafe for dinner since it was pouring on the streets.

Day 2

We spent the morning walking to the LOVE statue, then on to Logan Square and the Franklin Institute. We hit Rick’s Steaks under the Bellevue hotel, which was awesome! We hit the road around 1pm and thanks to traffic and some minor directional issues that I have (no fault of the navigator!), we ended up in Mystic, Connecticut around 8pm. Our friend Megan suggested Abbott’s Lobster in the Rough in Noank, so we stopped there for dinner first. Their lobster rolls were delicious! Tomorrow we’re going to tour around Mystic and then possibly move on to Rhode Island or Cape Cod

So I will admit that I am not used to the way WordPress organizes photos/galleries. I wish I could’ve split these up into the two days. You will have to be less lazy than me and match the photos to the stuff I described above. Perhaps we can do a better job tomorrow?
